Position Summary:


The Homecare Office Assistant is responsible for physician order management which includes: submitting, organizing, reviewing and processing all certifications, recertifications and verbal orders for Homecare and Hospice.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain a complete and accurate patient medical record to meet regulatory compliance.
  • Process physician orders daily to include but not limited to: faxing/submitting physician orders for signature. Receive/review returned orders and documents for regulatory compliance. Follow up on missing information and outstanding documents to ensure regulatory timelines are met.
  • Scan/file documents into patient records to ensure a complete and accurate patient medical record from admission through discharge
  • Process medical record requests
  • Provide backup support to office processes and reception - answer phones and direct calls in a professional, helpful and friendly manner
  • Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned by the manager

Minimum Qualifications:


  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have strong computer and organizational skills, attention to detail and be a team player with good interpersonal skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills with knowledge of telephone etiquette

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with healthcare and medical terminology
  • Previous EPIC experience
