Job description
The HomeFront Resource Network exists to connect families in poverty with the items they need to live lives with dignity. The Resource Network consists of two ongoing and several pop-up food pantries, a Diaper Resource Center that distributes diapers, wipes, and feminine hygiene products, our Furnish the Future program that provides gently used furniture to families moving into independent housing, two FreeStore locations where families can access clothing, housewares, linens, and appliances free of charge, and more. The Resource Network Summer Associates will work to provide these items to HomeFront families by harnessing the caring and resources of our community.
Member Duties : 1. Support clients, staff, and teammates as part of the effort to run successful ongoing Resource Network distribution efforts. a. Greet clients and provide needed items with respect from our food pantries, furniture program, diaper resource center, FreeStore, and more. b. Ensure efficient, effective service for HomeFront families. c. Complete client intake forms in a timely, accurate manner with required documentation. 2. Plan and enact special Resource Network events. a. Participate in HomeFront’s Back to School drive i. Solicit individual and group donations. ii. Sort and organize incoming donations. iii. Plan successful Back to School distribution effort b. Support ad hoc events such as pop up food pantries and other special distribution or collection events. 3. Sort and store incoming donations – clothing, food, housewares, furniture, etc. 4. Monitor and replenish Food and Diaper Pantry stock. 5. Organize Warehouse space in accordance with programmatic needs.
