The Hospital Manager will be responsible for directing daily operations of the Wellness Center (Drop-In) on the grounds of the state psychiatric hospital. The Wellness Center provides provides recovery support services to those in the state hospital. This role will be responsible for the recruitment, retention and development of the Wellness Center staff. This is a leadership role that works closely with the hospital staff, CSPNJ staff and persons served to ensure quality services are delivered all while meeting the state hospital regulations. The ideal person will have experience working in a mental health setting, be passionate about helping persons' in their recovery journey, have leadership skills and effective communication to ensure a safe environment that provides supports and resources linkages to guests. A typical day in this role may consist of developing support group content, meeting with staff for supervision, attend hospital or state meetings, addressing any issues that arise with center guest and or other meetings as required.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent + 4 years working at a nonprofit OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a mental health discipline.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage crises.
  • Time and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills. Foster teamwork.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
  • Must obtain 1st COVID-19 vaccination by start date, followed by the 2nd dosage and remaining booster within CDC’s interval guidelines.
