Position Responsibilities:

The Country Inn & Suites-Mall of America is seeking to add a FT Maintenance position on to their Engineering team. The hotel is looking for an individual who is available evenings and weekends from 2PM- 12AM. This full-time hourly position will support the general maintenance of the hotel. Areas of responsibility include: painting, landscaping, pools, flooring, doors, heating/cooling units, other general upkeep, and additional duties as assigned. Other duties consist of:

  • Responding to both customer and hotel staff reports of non-functioning equipment immediately
  • Reporting any hazards or injuries in the department and taking immediate action to correct
  • Maintaining rooms in operating condition by performing repairs as needed
  • Understanding the Room Preventative Maintenance Program (R.P.M.)
  • Preparing preventative maintenance carts for use each day
  • Replacing or repairing all appliances and damaged bathroom fixtures; executing general plumbing as needed
  • Maintaining overall appearance of rooms; replacing broken mirrors, hanging fixtures, touch-up painting, etc.
  • Repairing and maintaining rooms' heating/ventilating/air conditioning systems
  • Performing preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
  • Maintaining the condition of hotel lobbies and meeting spaces
  • Repairing furniture, carpet, marble, tile windows, mirrors and decorations as necessary
  • Maintaining operating equipment in working condition by performing routine equipment checks and repairs
  • Cleaning and maintaining pools in a safe manner
  • Cleaning and maintaining engineering/storage areas
  • Keeping all flags and banners in clean and repaired conditions
  • Maintaining a good driving record and the ability to drive the hotel shuttle for guest pick-up and drop-off
  • Creating 100% guest satisfaction by providing the service brand behavior, genuine hospitality and by exceeding guest expectations
  • Giving personal attention, taking personal responsibility and using teamwork when providing guest service
  • Listening, apologizing with empathy, finding a solution and following through when resolving guest problems
  • Assuming the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and using their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use 100% Guest Satisfaction
  • Performing other duties as required to provide the service brand behavior and genuine hospitality

Physical Demands:

  • Pushing and pulling heavy items on a regular basis
  • Frequently lifting items of varying weights
  • Extended periods of standing or sitting
  • Periodic stooping, kneeling, and bending
