ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates the PBX switchboard on assigned shift.
- Ensures all incoming calls are answered within three rings.
- Uses the guest/team member's name if known at all times.
- Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
- Sets wake up calls with accuracy.
- Serve as an information source for the hotel guests.
- Must be able to work effectively with multiple activities occurring simultaneously.
- Ability to work within established time frames with limited supervision.
- Gives out information and directs calls to the appropriate extension with accuracy.
- Maintains proper phone etiquette while being courteous and friendly to callers.
- Takes messages for Executives, staff members, and/or patrons as appropriate and necessary.
- Utilized property radio system to contact various departments and staff.
- Responds to common inquiries or complaints.
- Learns and stays abreast of property, administrative, amenity and event information.
- Follows all Company and Departmental policies and procedures.
- Reports any suspicious telephone activities to immediate supervisor.
- Understands and relays what actions are to be taken during an emergency, such as a bomb threat, fire, ect.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Knowledge of multi-phone line system preferred. Pleasant phone voice and hospitable personality. Previous job related experience in another hotel company is preferred.
