Overview

The House Person operates all laundry equipment and follows procedures in cleaning and processing of club and/or hotel laundry and guest clothing.

Currently hiring for the evening shift.

Responsibilities

  • Places linen and terry in containers for transport to laundry.
  • Collects soiled linen for laundering. Received linen supplies from floor.
  • Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry.
  • Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry.
  • Remove soiled linen and trash from the pool side and other service area and take to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner.
  • Sort's items and counts, and records number of items soiled.
  • Examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner, broom and carpet shampoo machine.
  • Stores laundered linen on shelves after verifying numbers and size of articles.
  • Dusts and polishes metalwork.
  • Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests.
  • Ensure that the linen is neatly and systematically arranged and stacked.
  • Maintains housekeeping carts.
  • Removes trash collected by room attendants.
  • Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect Newspaper bags, newspapers, trash, soiled linen.
  • Report missing / found articles, damage or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
  • Perform duties of room attendant when necessary.
  • Presentation of guest clothing must be attractive and inspected by a manager, prior to guest clothing being returned to a guest room.
  • Processing stained linen and add to re-circulation.
  • Loading / Unloading Washing Machines and dryers.
  • Work closely with all departments ensuring communication flows.
  • Periodically conduct inventories of linens and terry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Knowledge of laundering guest clothing.
  • Knowledge of operation of laundry machines and press.
  • Knowledge of ironing / pressing / steaming of guest clothing.
  • Knowledge of proper folding procedures for terry & linen.
  • Knowledge and proper chemical usage for machines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instruction.
  • Detail-oriented, Professional attitude is required.
  • Some lifting may be required (up to 25 pounds).
  • Physical mobility and stamina required.
  • Must be able to lift above head, stretch, bend, and crouch down or kneel when cleaning various items.
