About the role

The role holder will be an integral member of the North America Human Resources (HR) and Integrated Operations (IO) Leadership team, responsible for enabling profitable and sustainable growth through enabling our HR Operating Model and Integrated Operations transformation in North America. This role has specific accountability for shaping and executing plans to ensure the IO organization has the requisite leadership, talent pipeline, capabilities, operating model, and culture required for successful execution of our business growth strategy. The incumbent is responsible for taking a high-performing IO HR function to the next level, partnering with leaders across the business for delivery of the above. As a member of the regional HRLT, the role holder will ensure that NA IO priorities and requirements are addressed in the ongoing shaping and delivery of regional HR priorities, actively leveraging COEs and GBS for effective HR service delivery and accelerating our best-in-class HR journey in North America.

Key responsibilities

  • As an active member of the North America IO Leadership team, drive a high-performance ethos, contributing to the continued North America IO transformation and growth plans, and delivery of articulated business priorities.
  • Bring expertise and insight on leadership, talent, organizational and reward issues, and serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to the Regional COO and IO leadership team within a complex organization that is mid-way through a transformation.
  • Achieve significant progress in addressing key talent pipeline management priorities; particular focus on IOLT development, IOLT succession, Plant Leadership level talent, our diversity of the NA talent pipeline, and succession to prioritized leadership roles across the region.
  • Drive the next critical stages of the HR Operating Model implementation in NA across IO, fully leveraging GBS and COEs for effective and efficient HR delivery and ensuring that strong IO leadership partnership, commitment and required behaviors form the basis for successful change planning and impact through our plant network; play a strong leadership role in deploying our go-forward TA model, enabling effective and efficient IO operational performance.
  • Play a proactive role in current and future M&A activity through IO and our manufacturing footprint, ensuring the required HR capability is applied up-front as part of target selection as appropriate, with effective due diligence and seamless integration.
  • Build, lead, coach and develop a highly engaged NA IO HR Leadership team for ongoing momentum in delivery of articulated priorities through our IO transformation, enhancing our HR business partnering effectiveness across our network through simplifying our people processes and framework.

Main Requirements

  • 15 years + operational experience in a multi-site organization of a similar size ideally in diverse businesses and regions, and ideally with combined HR Business partnering and Centre of Expertise Experience (Talent, Organizational Effectiveness, Leadership Development, Learning, Reward) and will be very familiar with HR practices in the US and ideally also Canada
  • Track record of effective leadership through significant organizational transformation - has played a leading role in business transformation in sizeable complex businesses
  • Has demonstrated ability to drive culture change in alignment with strategic direction, and alignment of leadership and talent agendas to chosen strategic direction but keeping a tactical spirit.
  • Experience of working with remuneration as a strategic enabler to drive change and transformation
  • Has ideally played a key role in successfully integrating acquired businesses
  • Previous experience and success in a general management or other P&L accountable role with a strong commercial focus would be advantageous.
  • Ability in lean or agile is a plus.
