The Opportunity:
Join the UCF Student Health Team as an HR Partner III, and add to our dedication to providing excellent healthcare to the community that we serve.
The HR Partner III oversees the human resource (HR) functions and transactional items for Student Health Services (SHS) and serves as the HR liaison to other UCF colleges and departments that include centralized Human Resources units, Faculty Excellence, and the Office of Institutional Equity.
Responsibilities:
The HR Partner III oversees the human resource (HR) functions and transactional items for Student Health Services (SHS) and serves as the HR liaison to other UCF colleges and departments that include centralized Human Resources units, Faculty Excellence, and the Office of Institutional Equity. Additional job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for performance management guidance to employees and managers in clinical settings; works with supervisors to create and deliver performance management and corrective counseling documentation; coaches supervisors on resolving employee disputes, grievances, and employee engagement issues.
  • Advises supervisors and staff, in consultation with FMLA and Worker Compensation (WC) coordinators, regarding proper work accommodations, work restrictions, and associated leave and pay inquiries, policies, or procedures. Monitors and verifies actions pertaining to FMLA, WC First Reports of Injury, and Return to Work plans.
  • Works with supervisors and hiring managers in the preparation and updating of job descriptions, position updates, position establishments, and reclassifications. Facilitates various compensations functions such as preliminary salary analyses; merit, temporary, and special pay increases; and FTE or funding distribution changes.
  • Contributing member of the SHS AVP's executive leadership council. Actively participates in SHS strategic planning. Collaborates with the units' budgetary teams for planning and accurate FTW assignments. Keeps SHS leadership team abreast of changing HR policies, practices, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 7 years of HR experience with experience in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Experience with a matrixed reporting structure.
  • SHRM-(S)CP or SHPR/PHR certification.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
The selected candidate must be able to be bonded and maintain State of Florida notary commission.
