The Greater Manchester Shared Service (GMSS) is an exciting partnership between Trafford Council and Greater Manchester Police. Based at Trafford Town Hall, our aim is to provide a first class, professional, HR and payroll shared service for around 20,000 employees and customers across both organisations.
We are looking for an individual seeking a new and exciting challenge and an opportunity to support the service centre based at Trafford Town Hall. You will need to be a self-motivated individual who is able to work in a fast paced customer focused environment and have a passion for shared service delivery.
The Shared Service provides transactional functions such as the processing of administration, payroll services and personnel administration.
An exciting opportunity is available in the Greater Manchester Shared Service transactional team to support the service to deliver a range of personnel related activities across the Council and GMP. Focusing on high volumes of transactional activity you will utilise the I-Trent Payroll system to ensure that all transactional activity within the employee lifecycle is processed efficiently and accurately. This will involve issuing correspondence and dealing with enquiries.
You will have good organisational and ICT skills and an ability to work efficiently and under pressure to tight deadlines. You will have practice of maintaining accuracy and attention to detail whilst handling large volumes of work. You will also have previous experience of operating in a customer-focussed role, closely monitoring quality, risk, errors and customer satisfaction.
A good knowledge of modern computer systems preferably within a HR environment is essential.
Any appointment made to this role will be subject to the appointable candidate being vetted under Greater Manchester Police clearance processes and a criteria of vetting is UK residency for the last 3 years.
