Job Summary


To serve New Life Church by assisting with general HR functions and helping to support events within the Human Resources office.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive individual staff & volunteer data.
  • Handle office tasks, such as filing, ordering supplies and materials, creating staff packets, generating reports and presentations, setting up for meetings as needed.
  • Assist with managing and filing student rosters, incident reports, background checks, as needed.
  • Help support events within HR as needed.
  • Attend regular New Life Church staff and departmental meetings as requested by oversight.
  • Participate in serving at any Tier 1 events that require all staff to serve/participate.
  • Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church.
  • Cooperate with the HR Director and the Central Department with any other duties when asked to do so.
  • Maintain regular attendance at weekend church services.
  • Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministries of New Life Church.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity and experience with a variety of software applications, such as the MS Office suite of applications - Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with email, such as MS Outlook.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and ability to utilize them.
  • Strong organizational and office skills.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetical functions.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels.
  • Personable and helpful attitude.
  • Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands.
  • Excellent grammar skills and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete projects with little guidance.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information (with congregants and fellow staff members.)
  • Proficiently operate various office machines.
  • Excellent phone/communication skills.

Education and Experience


Education: High School or GED, some college preferred.

Experience: Three years administrative or related work experience.
