Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $135,000
  • Annual Short Term Incentive Plan Bonus eligibility

Overview

Summit Materials is looking for an HR Data & Analytics guru with proven knowledge & experience in data extraction, processing, reporting, & analysis. In this role, you will partner closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement on people matters. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insight, & insight into business decisions. Leveraging skills in analytics and visualization this position will be responsible for supporting the business by providing insights and informing decision making related to people and people actions. This role will work collaboratively across all levels of the organization, supporting the business in understanding the value that people data can bring to the organization, improving the way that we identify, attract, develop, and retain talent. Key resource responsible for developing reporting capabilities & value tracking for the function.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Collaborative approach to the development, implementation, & maintenance of HR reporting
  • Collect & structure large data sets from multiple sources to find usable information, draw sharp insights, & suggest actionable proposals
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to support key initiatives through robust analyses and dashboards. Build projections/modeling to reflect company cost impact & employee change magnitude for design options.
  • Leverage data & analytics to inform business decisions and establish KPIs to measure effectiveness
  • Provide subject matter expertise, advice, & guidance to the business on data matters
  • Utilize project management skills to include building business cases, preparing project plans, & reporting against metrics
  • Ensure consistency with best practices & organizational policies, standards, & procedures
  • Design and continuously improve global HR metrics, reports and dashboards which are aligned with the HR and business strategies, using benchmarking and best practices as guiding standards
  • Develop ongoing training for HR & business stakeholders around reporting
  • Collaborate with HR Leadership to measure business results & complete value tracking
  • Develop trusted partnerships with business leadership teams & ensure alignment between HR strategies & business strategies
  • Build forecasting models to predict optimal or impact, trends, and patterns in data set
  • Define new process improvement opportunities and ability on report writing
  • Aptitude in data science, data mining, segmentation techniques

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in data & analytics discipline or 3 years related experience
  • A formal education & degrees are preferred, but we are most interested in your total experience & professional achievements
  • Demonstrated project management and presentation skills
  • HR experience gained within a production/manufacturing environment
  • Experience in adhering to & actively supporting inclusion, diversity & equity programs
  • Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent priorities simultaneously; attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy; ability to thrive in dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully implement programs within budget & time constraints
  • Possess excellent critical thinking & problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data into clear, concise, actionable recommendations
  • Solutions oriented, influential, & hands-on leader
  • Must be a team player and able to work effectively and collaboratively at all levels in an organization
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in other data analysis software (PowerBI, data warehouse)
  • Ability to manage workload independently and available to work outside of business hours as required & may require occasional travel
