RISE is a non-profit organization that specializes in home and community-based support services for children and adults with developmental and other disabilities, mental health challenges, and aging adults. RISE is currently seeking a creative and results-oriented full-time Director responsible for the direction and management of the Employment Services program throughout Oregon. This division provides 1:1 care support to individuals in the community and at the workplace. Day Support Activities (DSA) helps individuals safely and successfully integrate into their community and develop relationships within their community. Job Coaching helps individuals adapt and integrate successfully into their place of employment and act as strong advocates for the individuals within the work setting.

This position will oversee the implementation of the RISE Mission, Vision, and Values and in compliance with all regulations and policies. This position will require an eye for quality assurance and detail, strong leadership abilities, reliable follow through, and a passion for serving our community. This position strives to provide the highest quality of life, while ensuring that all health and safety needs are met, for the individuals we serve. Strong interpersonal, relationship building, teamwork, and networking skills are a must.

This position will be based out of our Salem office and will have regular travel to Bend, Eugene, Roseburg and Eastern Oregon.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs and oversees all department operations. Develops and implements strategic plans.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and coaches’ staff. Provide leadership and mentoring to department staff.
  • Maintain professional support and relationship with funding sources and community partners. Serve as mediation to address high level customer concerns and feedback.
  • Create new community connections to foster growth and to work towards development of new contracts. Meets with community partners.
  • Responsible for proper administration of budgets and financial oversight. Support and oversee invoicing, billing, and aging processes on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct and attend internal meetings with department staff and management team.
  • Responsible for consistent practices and compliance with program policies and procedures.
  • Effectively advocate for people receiving support, particularly children and adults with developmental disabilities or those requiring the services of the agency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in human services related field and two (2) years of supervisory experience in the field; or four (4) years’ experience in the field and two (2) years supervisory experience in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
  • Education and/or experience related to the service provided, including the ability to relate to persons of varied lifestyles, backgrounds, and ethnicity. Experience with cultural diversity, assessing individual’s strengths and weaknesses.
  • Familiarity with the developmental disability system, vocational rehabilitation and adults with developmental disabilities, or ability and willingness to learn.

TRAVEL:

  • 20% of time requirements
  • Weekly travel to offices, meeting with partners, trainings, and events in the state. Occasional overnight travel.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug test, be 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and G Suite (Gmail, Hangouts, Drive, Calendar, etc.)
  • Occasionally required to lift and move up to 30 pounds of paper, files and/or equipment.
  • Able to sit for extended periods (1-2 hour blocks) of time to enter data into multiple systems and attend meetings
  • Occasionally required to attend or conduct long meetings (3-4 hours in duration).
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions, deal with difficult people, and handle multiple assignments with specific deadlines.
  • Able to have appropriate interactions and maintain professionalism.
  • Able to read and interpret written information, including laws and regulations
  • Regularly required to use their fingers, hands, arms and eyes to type.
  • Frequently required to speak to and appropriately respond to employees & managers on the phone.
