Job Title: Incoming Inspector / QC Tech

Department: Quality

Reports To: Quality Manager

SUMMARY: Ensure that incoming materials are inspected and received into MacPac prior to stocking or production. Identify and document non-conforming issues. Maintains authority to accept or reject products as necessary and that follow-up activities occur with responsible vendors in a timely manner. Participate in continuous improvement activities to drive improvements in quality and promote a quality mindset throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform incoming receiving inspections and ensures that corresponding receiving documents are completed in a timely manner

· Receive, review and file vendor Certificates of Compliance / Certificates of Analysis

· Generate non-conformance documents for both manufactured and purchased components

· Document and monitor products in QC Hold

· Work to improve communication of customer requirements, resolve customer issues and promote quality throughout the organization

· Participate in the internal audit program to support the Quality Management System

· Assist in maintaining the calibration program to ensure compliance

· Assist in managing quality documents and ensure their accuracy, quality and integrity

· Manage RGA’s (Return Goods Authorization)

· Maintain the material preservation program

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES: N/A.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Must possess good PC skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office

· Must have good organizational and communication skills

· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

· Fork lift certified (will train if necessary)

· General understanding of ISO-9001

· Must be able to read and understand prints and shop orders

· Must be familiar with measuring tools such as:

o Calipers

o Micrometers

o Tape Measures

o Taper Gauge

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum High School Diploma and 2-5 years’ experience in a quality related field

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shop orders, product specifications and prints. Ability to communicate effectively with management and all production employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Possess basic skills in mathematics.

REASONING ABILITY: Be able to identify problems and work with responsible parties to prevent reoccurrence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for long period of times. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to both office and plant surroundings. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, certain areas required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
