NOW HIRING - Industrial Machine Operator - Manitowoc, WIs

Pay Range: Based on experience

Perform all duties necessary to the efficient operation of all equipment in the plant. Operate and maintain plant equipment in accordance with standard work and building procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and follow all safety preventative measures and practices, including 5S+ safety protocols
  • Must be able to adhere to and meet standard work requirements
  • Must be able to employ computer programs to assist in recording data, making labels, printing tooling layouts, obtaining prints and specifications, printing ship-sets, etc.
  • Promote collaboration

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Continue to stay up to date in skills through training, classes and on the job training
  • Must be capable of managing several machines after set-ups have been completed
  • Perform all quality checks to include SPC, visual and total dimensional conformance
  • Be responsible for process evaluation, measurement, documentation, and improvement on a continuous basis
  • Must possess the aptitude to operate a bar marker, fork lift, chunking saw, an overhead bridge crane (for loading and unloading trucks), along with locating and disbursing raw materials to machines
  • Must be able to recognize various grades and sizes of raw material (bar stock and tubing)
  • Be able to verify weight of brass, which may involve the use of a scale
  • Must work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
  • Must notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities, which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk, and report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately

Education required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • equivalent experience

Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Sound decision making capabilities
  • Good math, reading and writing capabilities
  • Be able to exercise constant mental, visual and audio attention

Skills/ Competencies:

  • Basic computer abilities
  • Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks
  • Requires constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail
  • Must be able to read blueprints
