Industrial Painter

Pay: $18-20/hr. (Depending on experience)

Hours: Monday-Friday. 6AM-2:30PM

Job Description:

As an Industrial Painter your primary responsibility will be to apply primer, undercoating, and topcoat to beds according to job specifications. You will work in a manufacturing environment where safety is a top priority, and you will need to always comply with safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

Log in and scan job code with the bar scanner. Log in to the appropriate job according to job position. Apply primer, undercoating, and topcoat to beds. Inspect the bed for any paint splatters or paint runs. If there are paint runs or paint splatters, dry and prep the bed for repaint (rework). Print stickers for bed. Check number per job traveler and claim job number. Inform lead that the bed is completed, and the lead will inspect the bed. If a paint issue is found, issue a nonconformance tag with the location of the needed rework. Move the bed to one of the drying racks. After the bed is dry, move it for final wiring and inspection. Use hand tools (open-end/box-end wrenches) of various sizes, palm sander, sandpaper roll (120 grit), and MEK to complete the job. Wear safety glasses, a paint suit, and a respirator at all times. Check with the lead to determine which beds are a priority. Attend the morning production meeting (TBD). Bring cleaned, washed, and dried beds into the booth.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED. Proven experience as an industrial painter. Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix, and apply them. Ability to use hand tools (open-end/box-end wrenches) of various sizes, palm sander, sandpaper roll (120 grit), and MEK. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures. Ability to work in a team environment. Good communication skills. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
