Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher
Job description
We're looking for a kind, responsible, fun, and energetic Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher to work in our daycare. The Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher will teach children fine and gross motor skills, speech and language skills, cognitive and intellectual skills, and social and emotional skills. This position is great for someone who loves working with children and enjoys the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on our students.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a pleasant, calm teaching environment.
- Deal effectively with disruptive children without raising your voice.
- Incorporate educational and creative activities into your lesson plans.
- Incorporate a range of developmental and instructional activities into your lesson plans, including dramatic play, music, art, dance, and storytelling.
- Introduce new topics to the curriculum as appropriate for the age of the children in your care.
- Prepare interesting, stimulating lessons for children based on their interests and abilities.
- Prepare children for the preschool room by developing their cognitive skills and fine-tuning their gross-and fine-motor skills.
- Read to children using an appropriate voice inflection and expression.
- Engage infants/toddlers in a variety of sensory activities based on their interests and abilities.
Education:
Must have one or more of the following:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or a child-related field
- Montessori credential with 480 hours experience
- Associates degree or higher in early childhood education or child development
- Valid child development associate credential with 480 hours of experience
- Highschool diploma or GED with 12 semester hours and 960 hours experience
- High school diploma or GED with 12 semester hours, 18 CUEs, or a combination equal to 180 clock hours with 1920 hours of experience
- High school diploma or GED with 6 semester hours, 9 CEUs or a combination equal to 90 clock hours with 3840 hours of experience
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Must be 19 years of age
- Able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Diapering duties
- Cleaning room
- Determining goodness of fit together with parents and co workers to establish a primary caregiver for our children
- Knowledge in, or willingness to learn about R.I.E., respectful caregiving, and the practice of educaring
- Keeping and checking daily logs for each child in the classroom
- Education or experience related to Nature/Forest school a plus
Pay: full time & dependent upon schooling and experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour

Experience:
- Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
