Job description
SMX is seeking a skilled Information Assurance Engineer to support our team on site in Chantilly, VA. This role will support our Defense and National Security Clients. This is a hands-on role where the selected candidate will perform AWS cloud tasks delegated by the ISSM in support of various information assurance programs and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance of accredited information systems based on federal and DoD security standards
- Prepare and update accreditation packages including creation and maintenance of System Security Plans (SSP), Policies and Procedures, and associated documentation
- Initiate corrective actions if a security problem is discovered
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and mitigations
- Build and support Information System hardware solutions
- Accurately document and maintain ATO documentation including standard operating procedure development, artifact creation, submission of artifacts to ISSM and/or government representatives
Required Skills and Experience
- Clearance Required: TS/SCI CI Poly
- On site requirement: 5 days/week in Chantilly, VA
- CISSP certification
- Experience working within the AWS GovCloud Space utilizing tools such as S3, CloudWatch, VPCs, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in related field of study with 8 or more years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls/Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation (assessment and authorization) Process
- Experience work with the AWS Cloud (EC2s, S3, RDS, ElastiCache)
- Subject Matter expertise IT System Assurance utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and application to Cloud Solutions.
- Delivery experience and working knowledge utilizing key Department of Defense guidance and governance including DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide and Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA)
- Skills in understanding of key components related to Cloud Information Assurance including IT Infrastructure, Networking, and Security
- Experience with preparation of accreditation packages for large cloud based distributed systems with complex integration.
- Experience performing continuous monitoring and cybersecurity hygiene of enterprise computing environments
