Position Summary:
Alamon is looking for an experienced Integration Technician to join our team and perform commissioning and integration procedures on multiple OEM platforms. Technicians must have some exposure to performing Network Assessment and node integration. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who provides high-quality workmanship and has excellent customer service skills both in person and over the phone and is able to multitask under pressure.
This is a position that requires extensive travel from the East Coast to the West Coast with 50% of the work being in the Midwest. Wage will be paid depending on experience.
The qualifying applicant will be trained by the OEM at a facility on their specific DWDM platform. Certifications will be filed in the employees Alamon file. This training will be at no cost to the applicant.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Must be familiar to perform high levels of test & turn-up procedures with accuracy & must be able to write high-risk MOP's and CM Matrix tasks and complete all associated paperwork that is required for the job.
  • Must be familiar with hot cuts, energizing equipment, and fiber circuit rolls.
  • Work with customer support to complete basic provisioning to allow customers remote access for advanced provisioning.
  • Proficient with logging in, commission, & fully provisioning transport equipment.
  • Be able to verify network and timing connectivity, verify continuity of various fiber and cable connections.
  • Plan and coordinate high-risk activity including, identifying equipment, cards, pluggable, fiber/cables, and circuit ID’s, and map out and run new fibers for Integration, fiber rolls, hot cuts, etc.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience with tests and turn up required.
  • Fiber Characterization and OTDR Testing
  • Familiar with commissioning, Network Assessment, and Integration
  • Extensive understanding of hand tools, test equipment, and ability to use a computer to interface with customer products
  • Ability to read and interpret floor plans, rack drawings, and customer-provided work orders.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications: Email, Excel, Word
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including proficiency in written and verbal communications, with strong listening skills
  • Excellent time-management skills and multitasking abilities
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Current driver’s license and insurance
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel
Work Environment:
Work environment is partially an environmentally controlled indoor environment. The Employee may be subjected to noise levels which may range from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time.
