Job description
This post is responsible for developing, leading and evaluating internal communications campaigns, projects and channels – supporting the delivery of CUH’s communications strategy and the Trust strategy and priorities.

This will involve overseeing, or working with, other communications professionals and stakeholders to support and resource communications activities.

Developing the Trust’s reputation with its staff through effective two-way communication and engaging content.
  • Develop and deliver communications strategies, campaigns and work plans.
  • Provide communications support and advice to leaders in the organisation.
  • Undertake audience insight projects, measurement and evaluation.
  • Identify important and relevant news stories and content from divisions and directorates for use in the Trust’s internal and external communications channels.
  • Create content that engages our audiences.
  • Contribute to the improvement of our internal communications channels, and the development of new channels.
  • Develop the communications competencies of line managers at the Trust by creating toolkits and training to support them in delivering the communications responsibilities of their roles.
  • Identify best practice in internal communications in other industries as well as the NHS and use this to improve ways of working at the Trust.
  • Deputise for the head of internal communications.
  • Develop specifications and commission external suppliers including designers, market researchers, consultants and copy-writers and liaise with them to ensure delivery against agreed specifications.
  • Provide support and advice to all staff on any aspect of internal communications. Raise awareness of communications approaches and channels and give presentations as required.
  • Promote the importance of communications within the Trust as a key tool for effective management.
