Join us as a full-time administrator in the SDI Global Inward Investment department. It’s an exciting opportunity to help grow Scotland’s economy and achieve the goals of the Scottish Government’s inward investment plan.

The role

This busy role sits at the heart of SDI’s Business Development/Global Companies team. You’ll support the team and its specialists to deliver inward investment project work across all sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking accurate meeting notes and following up on actions
  • Collating information for events, enquiries, briefings and presentations
  • Managing team resources on internal systems and producing Microsoft Dynamics reports
  • Supporting procurement and budget management, including using a procurement card, setting up purchase orders and invoices
  • Making some travel arrangements and researching and booking venues for team activities
  • Supporting and attending events

Who we're looking for

You’ll be an independent thinker with an interest in international inward investment and a desire to proactively develop your career. You communicate well with customers and colleagues alike and are used to forging strong working relationships at all levels.

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

  • Excellent administrative skills and working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to learn SE/SDI internal management systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management with the ability to manage a variety of demands and deadlines
  • Attention to detail ¬and the ability to streamline and clearly present information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dispersed team, with an adaptable approach

Ideally, but not essentially, you’ll also have:

  • Knowledge of international business and inward investment
  • An understanding of broad economic development issues
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other SE offices or other locations as required

Please note, you may be required to undertake some travel and attend some events outside of core working hours, however we are committed to ensuring an appropriate work/life balance.
