The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining the plant’s inventory management system to ensure availability of raw materials for manufacturing with the objective of controlling costs within budget, generating savings, and rationalizing inventory. This role also acts as the office coordinator. The office coordinator leads and oversees the activities of the administrative assistants to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Position Requirement/Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required Experience: 2-3 years related work experience

Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle

Essential Duties: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Manage and maintain the company’s intermediate and finished goods stock profiles
  • Manage inventory stock counting methods and accuracy checks.
  • Work with Quality and Customer Service in minimizing overstocks and removing obsolete, redundant materials to maximize available working capital
  • Write and maintain accurate written procedures for all inventory types and functions
  • Implement continuous improvement processes and systems to reduce inventories, minimize cost and maximize working capital
  • Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved
  • Support the plant in annual physical inventory events
  • Job Costing
  • Batch Reconciliation
  • Develop and provide training on inventory practices at plant level
  • Monitor office processes for continuous improvement opportunities and implantation
  • Create batches in oracle for finished goods, intermediates, and safety stocks
  • Daily cycle counts
  • Attend meetings relating to inventory adjustments/obsolescence/hold material/work away
  • Adjust inventory based on calls/e-mails from Shipping, and other Departments.
  • Monitor inventory deductions.
  • FIFO program monitoring.
  • Monitor aged inventory / Notify teams of improvement / Work with MTS/Quality/Customer Service
  • Create inventory costs for items, CSL, R&D and CFO purchasing
  • Get access to monitor SILOs.
  • Head up yearly inventory / work with auditors to finalize
  • Continually work to lower inventory multiple lots / lot consolidation
  • Enter internal requisitions for intermediates that come from other plants (only INTs and FGs…. RMs are entered by Purchasing)
