The Role
We are seeking a part-time IT Assistant (20 hours per week) to offer vital support to our team of over 150 employees (and growing!) across the globe and to help ensure smooth running of our IT function within the EMEA and APAC regions. You will be responsible for liaising with our established external provider on larger and more sophisticated IT needs, as well as resolve less urgent tasks in-house.
You will report to our Group IT Manager, who will manage your IT assignments day to day, and you will work alongside our existing IT Assistants in the UK and USA. You will also work closely with our existing business support team across our three regions: EMEA, Americas, and Australasia.
Primary Responsibilities
- First point of contact for day-to-day IT queries via Helpdesk, email, or other support channels (Teams, phone) alongside our outsourced IT support company, Protronics.
- Liaise with external IT support providers and internal management to ensure smooth IT operations.
- Manage the purchasing, repairs, and renewals of all IT hardware, including mobile phones, and of all software (both standalone licenses and subscriptions), including transitions to new software platforms.
- Maintain records of all IT hardware and software on our internal online platforms.
- Provide IT inductions of hardware and software for new hires and IT closedown and equipment retrieval for departing staff.
- Provide necessary coverage and support across the IT team when required.
- Continually share knowledge and ideas to help develop and grow the IT function, as well as contribute to increasing success across all regions.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Adobe, and audio/video conferencing systems (i.e., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Experience in supporting mobile devices and deployment.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience providing software administrative support for Bluebeam and Autodesk products a plus
- Strong technical ability and troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
- Experience with supporting users remotely and across multiple time zones.
- An interest or experience in the arts, events, and/or live performance is a plus.
Key Skills
- Personable with an ability to adapt your communication style to liaise successfully with our global team, and the ability to employ an awareness of local cultural nuances.
- Work well under minimal supervision to multi-task and complete projects and tasks on time.
- Able to work in high pressure situations to find timely solutions.
- Able to adapt in an agile environment.
Employment details
The role is being offered part-time on an at will, exempt basis at 20 hours per week.
As an international organization, the needs of the business are as such that this role requires a flexibility in working hours (which can be variable from week to week) to facilitate project demands and maintain support across our global entities varying time-zones. Working hours patterns will be agreed with your line manager to suit your personal circumstances and the current workload.
The role is subject to a three-month probationary period.
We are currently working in a distributed (remote) model, meaning you will work from your home (or other place of your choosing) anywhere in the United Kingdom with occasional work from one of our UK studios in London or Bristol, should you desire. We will provide you with the necessary IT hardware and software to enable to you to carry out your role successfully in line with your duties.
Please note, although the role is distributed, the successful applicant must be based in the UK to effectively meet the current needs of our work and local team, and you should be able and willing to travel to external meetings and our UK studios as required, with notice.
Annual leave entitlement: 20 days minimum per annum, based on 40 hours per week, plus statutory public holidays. As this position is part-time, annual leave entitlement will be pro rata per government guidelines and agreed upon, based on total hours/days worked per week. We traditionally close our studios between Christmas and New Year's Day, resulting in an additional average 4-5 holiday days per annum. *We are currently trialing 'unlimited annual leave,' so there may be the opportunity to benefit from some additional days' annual leave, in line with our Policy.

Charcoalblue operates a bonus scheme which you will benefit from following successful completion of a three-month probationary period. Please note that this is subject to the Partnerships performance year on year and is not guaranteed.
Following successful completion of your probationary period, you will be eligible to participate in our company benefits package, including our pension auto-enrolment scheme, our annual bonus scheme and allocation of two theatre or other live event tickets per month. We offer this benefit to encourage you to immerse yourself in the theatre and arts industry as far as possible. We will also contribute to your home broadband and give you a monthly contribution towards your home utilities to enable you to work from home effectively in line with our distributed working model. Other benefits are accumulative as you progress with the company.
Following successful completion of your second year, you will be eligible to join our Private Health Insurance plan, in line with our company policy.
Salary
The salary range for this role is £12,000 - £17,500* per annum, based on 20 working hours per week (*equivalent to £24,000 - £35,000 per annum for a 40-hour week).
