IT Developer (Full-Time)
Reports to: IT Dev Manager
Position: Exempt, Full-time
Location: Boise, Idaho
The Developer for our UniData (Pick system) environment is technically skilled with good problem-solving skills for a 50+ site retailer with a proprietary ERP system and supporting our company to the next level for information and technology. Responsibilities include coding and writing new programs for our legacy ERP system bases in UniData with the goal of supporting our end users' needs in the showrooms, customer care, warehouses and distribution centers. This role is at our Boise, ID headquarters and this is a non-remote position. We cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role.
What You Will Do
  • Learn, diagnose, repair, maintain, and enhance our legacy ERP system. Work closely with customers and business units to define, map, and leverage data from legacy systems to new systems.
  • System and ERP Programming:
    • Code, implement, program, and craft department/user programming and software needs for inventory for legacy ERP system.
    • Writing, debugging software using UniData BASIC and editing/debugging tools.
    • Developing data integrations and automation to leverage data between systems.
    • ERP programming responsibilities are not limited to analysis, designing, preparing, coding, testing, debugging and developing needed software programs technical manuals and user training materials adapted to user and the company’s strategic plans and objectives.
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
  • Ability to program/write scripts in languages such as SQL, C++, Java *(J2EE), xml., Python, X++.
  • Manage Daily, Weekly, Monthly type tasks within the legacy systems.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring users from completing their work or interrupting sales.
  • POS Maintenance for support and maintenance around POS systems remotely.
  • Operate AS400 Systems and their peripherals, includes local and remote printers, servers, controllers, routers, input/output devices and consoles and POS systems as needed.
  • Perform other special projects or duties when required.
Who You Are
  • Experience with Unidata, UniVerse, or any multivalue database programming. Or experience with Pick OS
  • Understanding and ability to work with data structures across platforms, both legacy and XaaS
  • A+, Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network, Azure or Oracle Suit associate accreditation
  • 2+ years of experience in computer networks, and systems maintenance
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • In Depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Prolonged sitting, standing, moderate reaching and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work and travel to other locations.
  • Our positions require successfully completing the pre-employment background check and signing a nondisclosure agreement.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
