The IT Infrastructure Engineer position will lead LES’ IT infrastructure initiatives and shape our cloud strategies moving forward, with opportunities to research and investigate new technologies. This individual will also coach and guide other IT Administrators in the department and work closely with the Cyber Security team to evaluate and improve our security posture. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ESSENTIAL DUTIES

IT Infrastructure Engineer ($78,802 - $98,503) - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and at least three years of progressive experience in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Leads medium to large projects in area of assignment.
  • Implements, administers, and manages any or all of the following technologies as assigned. These technologies may be on-premises, collocated, or cloud based.
    • multi-server systems,
    • virtualization platforms and hypervisors such as VMware,
    • storage arrays and data protection systems,
    • network infrastructure, including software defined networks,
    • data center infrastructure,
    • enterprise systems including email, collaboration, content management, endpoint management, file storage, and domain/directory services.
    • Cloud services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). Examples include Office 365, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Azure Services.
  • Assists with monitoring backup services, enterprise directory services, network/storage infrastructure, logging/SIEM, disaster recovery, and data recovery procedures.
  • Verifies and ensures that system operations comply with security policies and procedures.
Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer ($90,624 - $113,280) – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and at least six years of progressive experience in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and lead to lower-level staff including prioritizing, establishing standards, assigning and monitoring work to ensure work is done according to specifications, standards, and expectations. Ensures lower-level staff are trained in proper work methods.
  • Leads large, complex projects, including advanced engineering of IT infrastructure systems and related networks. Establishes project goals and timelines and providing technical support.
  • Engineers, plans, designs, implements, establishes standards, analyzes systems and programs, improving systems and processes, assesses feasibility, installs, integrates IT infrastructure systems and related networks for both IT and OT environments including on-premises, collocated, or cloud based of the following:
    • multi-server systems,
    • virtualization platforms and hypervisors such as VMware,
    • storage arrays and data protection systems,
    • network infrastructure, including software defined networks,
    • data center infrastructure,
    • enterprise systems including email, collaboration, content management, endpoint management, file storage, and domain/directory services.
    • Cloud services such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • Ensures high levels of availability and security of assigned infrastructure systems.
  • Perform root cause analysis to assist in the effective remediation and long-term elimination of complex problems.
  • Reviews and verifies changes and solutions to ensure high availability and disaster recovery application architecture for applications and systems.
  • Validates and ensures that system operations comply with security policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with peer departments and utilities to ensure system operations follow best practices and recommendations for monitoring, incident response, risk assessments, and overall security posture.
