The base hourly rate for this position is $19.41
OBJECTIVE: Responsible for performing all duties on a professional level and complying with the Maintenance Manager, under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Working from general instructions from the plant management team, and all levels within the organization in support of the four Johns Manville core values: People, Passion, Performance, and Protection.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following job functions are to be performed in accordance with the spirit and philosophy contained within the Operating Policy and in accordance with Company Policy:
Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company commitments, policies, and compliance requirements Work in a safe manner and look out for your co-workers Sweeps, vacuums, scrubs, mops, waxes and polishes floors Dusts, cleans. And polishes offices and other furniture. Empties ash trays, waste baskets, and other receptacles, hauls waste and disposes of waste in specified manner. Cleans and disinfects urinals, toilets and other shower room facilities. Cleans wash basin and drinking fountains, eye wash stands. Replenishes sanitary supplies. Washes and cleans walls, ceilings, doors, windows and venetian blinds. Cleans and sweeps plant entrance and access areas. Operates power sweeper and scrubber to clean aisles in the warehoused and other plant areas. Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times. Keeps equipment and work area clean and neat at all times. Performs various other duties as directed. Performa clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed Take breaks in a timely manner The duties above are frequently performed with very little supervision and access to plant offices at night is necessary. This job requires a person of honesty and integrity. Uses safe work practices and reports hazardous conditions. Follow safety guidelines in the defiance complex. Wear proper PPE. Follow all general shop rules for defiance complex. Cleanup your work area (unit). Attend all monthly safety meetings. Complete safety/beware audits on a monthly basis. Complete computer based training and all other programs needed to stay in compliance with company policy’s.
JOB MEASUREMENTS
Employee will demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, give and receive instructions as needed, and display the ability to work safely in a fast paced, team based environment. Scheduling flexibility is required, as well as a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities during the course of the day.
JOB LOCATION:
The responsibilities for this job are performed throughout the plant. Conditions are often hot, with temperatures ranging from 70-115 degrees. The environment may be dirty from oils, grease and dust and may be noisy from the machinery. Required personal protective equipment must be worn at all times
EQUIPMENT: (i.e. Machines, Devices, Tools, Etc., used in job performance)
  • Power sweeper, power scrubber, waxer and polisher, brooms, mops, rags, buckets
BACKGROUND/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (i.e. high school diploma, degree, specialized knowledge, roles, skills and/or expertise)
  • High School diploma or GED
