Federal Ammunition is seeking a Plant Janitor who will support manufacturing departments by providing a clean, safe, and productive work environment.
SHIFT: "P" Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and every other Thursday 5am-5pm
STARTING WAGE is $19.03/hour with increase to $23.54 after 90 days then $24.24 after another 90 days based on performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Experience, education, licenses, certifications, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position.)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated “safety first” attitude with excellent safety record and demonstrated safe work habits
  • Capable of operating forklift (we will train, no previous experience required)
  • Capable of operating floor sweeper and riding or walk behind scrubber (we will train, no previous experience required)
  • Good numerical recognition and comprehension
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Interpersonal communication skills with a positive customer service attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a work team
  • Computer experience, or willing to learn
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask and organize workload
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in a janitorial position
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(Fundamental duties necessary to achieve the objective of the position.)
Operate and maintain floor sweeper daily in assigned areas of plant. Operate multiple scrubbers daily in all areas of the plant. Perform daily maintenance on scrubbers. Inventory and stock cleaning supplies in operational parts of the plant. Clean and inspect air supply units for fresh air. Clean touch surface areas in plant, breakrooms and changing trailers. Remove assigned waste streams from plant and changing trailers and send to correct disposal. Launder clothing for the production floor. Train new employees to the position as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
(Knowledge, skills and abilities currently used to perform essential functions)
Physical Requirements: Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds with occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of weights up to 50 pounds. Walking/Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching required. Able to climb ladders. Must have normal depth perception capability for operation of floor sweeper and forklift.
Mental Requirements: High attention to safety; Reading and math comprehension; Verbal communication skills; Good memory; Ability to read a basic floor layout map.
Equipment Used: Floor sweeper and scrubber, forklift
Personal Protective Equipment: All positions require the use of safety glasses with side shields, and hearing protection (hearing protection and non-prescription safety glasses are provided). Further requirements for this position:
  • Requires the use of a respirator (Supplied)
  • Requires the use of face shield (Supplied)
  • Requires the use of coveralls (Supplied)
Working Environment: Incumbent subject to fumes, dirt, dust, chemicals when in plant. Regular production floor work causes exposure to mechanical/electrical equipment hazards.
Pay Range:
$18.30 - $23.31
