Job description
The May Center School for Brain Injury and Neurological Disorders in Norwood is looking for a Job Coach to be responsible for developing and implementing programing opportunities for our students. Through job coaching, this position will encourage a variety of skill areas including job acquisition, social skills, community involvement, maintaining employment, banking, and budgeting. This position will work closely with the Transitional Education Coordinator given case management responsibilities to ensure service delivery contracts are fulfilled.

Responsibilities:
  • Job coach with internal paid employment, external volunteering, and external paid employment.
  • Assisting with the development of Transitional Education IEP goals and objectives that cover the needs in all appropriate transitional skill areas.
  • Attend and participate in clinical and goal planning meetings.
  • Track and monitor student progress while writing quarterly progress reports within a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationship with potential and existing community employers.
  • Assist in identifying appropriate vocational placement.
  • Manage finances.
  • Advocate for individuals’ hours of work, mode of pay and salary for assumed positions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in human services
  • Demonstrated experience with job coaching and motivating.
  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis a plus
  • Experience with challenging behaviors
  • Driver’s License required, ability to operate 12 passenger van.
