Job description

Responsibilities :

• Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
• Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
• Identify electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and/or fixtures
• Use hand tools and power tools to complete your projects
• Install Residential/Commercial/Data Solutions electrical systems in a variety of applications
• Site Cleanup
• Material Handling – up to and including 200 lb team lifts
• Read blueprints and job specific materials, and understand them as they pertain to your role
• Have reliable transportation to and from the job site/MVEC Shop
• Assist other MVEC employees in their daily tasks
• Be willing and able to listen to and follow instructions given by senior members of MVEC
• Communicate with customers at the job you’re assigned to
• Maintain a valid Virginia Driver’s License
• Maintain your license as a Journeyman

Requirements:

• Electrical experience required, licensed preferred
• drivers license in good standing
• reliable transportation to and from shop
• must be able to lift 50 pounds by themselves
• must not be afraid of heights under 30'
• must be willing to enter and work in crawl spaces
• must be able to pass aptitude test

Job Location: Floyd County VA, Carroll County VA, Franklin County VA, Montgomery County VA, Pulaski County VA, Patrick County VA, etc.

Other info:
Pay starts at $25/hour. Pay raise with more experience.
