Position

• Apogee is a government contractor seeking an Accountant to assist with Accounting & Finance and Contracting functions
• Apogee’s ideal Accountant candidate is a knowledgeable, motivated self-starting, financial professional, comfortable working on a dynamic team

What You’ll Do

• Support Apogee’s Director of Finance & Accounting in payroll and daily activities
• Perform Accounts Payable (AP) duties (invoice auditing, transaction entry, expense reporting, sending payments to vendors)
• Perform Accounts Receivables (AR) duties (generating invoices, invoicing, and posting revenues and customer payments)
• Complete general payroll processing via TRAXPayroll, leave accruals, and account balance reconciliation
• Assist with general ledgers, monthly journal entries, reconciliations, budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and financial reporting
• Assist with Unanet project maintenance, project setup, resources, timekeeping, expense reports, and other duties as assigned
• Assist Apogee’s Director of Contracts in monthly status reports and contract time and payment reconciliation
• Work with Apogee HR, Contracts, and Senior Leadership teams to execute government contracts using Federal Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
• Knowledge of accounting practices and concepts
• Detailed-oriented with advanced MS-Excel data manipulation & analysis skills
• Experience with government accounting software
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

Desired

• Government Contracting and GAAP/FAR/CAS knowledge
• Experience with Unanet ERP Financials for GOVCON
• Familiar with payroll systems (BambooHR & TRAXPayroll)
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow professionally
• 2 years of similar work experience
• Pursuing a CPA
