Junior Accountant General Duties and Responsibilities:
Your role as Junior Accountant is to support the Senior Accountant/Controller while providing important services within the office. As the Junior Accountant, you have the following responsibilities:

• Assist in all accounting functions as directed or delegated, ensuring all financial documents are properly maintained and appropriate internal controls are in place.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations (bank reconciliations and discrepancy resolution).
• Review and file sales tax, federal tax, and other relevant taxes.
• Assist in and support Controller in preparing and issuing W-2’s, 1099's, and other year- end reporting requirements.
• Maintain accounts receivable, document bills and supporting documentation, ensure timely receipt of income due and follow up on late payments.
• Maintain accounts payable, ensure timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the debt and gathering appropriate signatures while ensuring expenses are properly recorded and accrued.
• Update financial records using "Foundation" accounting software in use by Ryan Floors.
• Gather payroll expenses and input data correctly into accounting ledgers to ensure prompt, accurate and timely payment of salaries, accurate benefit management, tax management, garnishments, and other personnel related items.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budget documents under the purview of the Controller.
• Support the preparation and timely completion of financial statements, balance sheets and reports as requested by Controller.
• Have a strong work ethic that commits you to do whatever it takes to get the job done, including working different or longer hours and/or taking on different work assignments outside those of accounting as needed to support the effective functioning of our business.
• Have excellent communication skills, be fluent verbally and in writing. Actively listen and converse with the speaker until both parties are clear on the intention, request and expected response/resolution. Write clearly and concisely in a manner that is appropriate for the intended audience. Can interpret financial documents and weekly financial status to laypeople within the business.

Qualifications:

· 3+ years of professional accounting experience
· Associate Degree in Accounting with collegiate level coursework in basic and applied accounting principles required; Bachelor Degree in Accounting preferred.
