National Technology is an internal service team at RSM UK whose purpose is to deliver and manage the technology solutions to support the firm’s ambitious growth plans as well as day-to-day operations. RSM recognises the strategic importance of IT and Digital to the future of the business and is investing in IT and digital skills and solutions to better serve the needs of our clients and people.
This role is within the Infrastructure Team who are responsible for managing the firm’s networks, data centres, IT security, end-user technologies and their deployment. It is our job to make sure everything runs smoothly. We are a team made up of talented and passionate individuals who work together in an Agile environment to deliver solutions to constantly changing business needs.
You will report to the Head of Technology Infrastructure within RSM’s National Technology department, and you will also co-ordinate your work closely with Infrastructure Lead for Datacentre and Cloud, to ensure alignment with the National Technology strategy. As part of your development in the role, you will be mentored by subject matter experts with in-depth knowledge of these subject areas.
The role is based in Crawley. Applications from individuals in any location are encouraged due to ongoing hybrid working arrangements, however there is an expectation to attend sites often to work in the datacentres and learn from your colleagues.
The responsibilities of the role are varied, but will include:
- Monitor system alerts, perform root cause analysis and work with the wider team to address issues.
- Perform administrative changes to systems as requested.
- Fault find issues related to datacentre services raised via the service desk.
- Assist with updating a variety of infrastructure systems to ensure we are running on target versions.
- Build new servers and services as requested.
- Update and upgrade existing systems under direction.

This role is within the Datacentre and Cloud Team, it will involve working with different members of the team daily, so good all round communication skills are important.
You will be a talented, proactive and enthusiastic individual looking to work within small teams in a dynamic, cutting edge IT department. You would have either just left education, looking for a career change, or currently work in a similar role and looking for more opportunities to grow. You’ll need to be comfortable working under pressure and communicating with staff at all levels. Technically, you should have a working knowledge of:
- Windows Environments – client and server
- Wired and Wireless Network technologies and protocols
- IT Security Essentials
