Position Summary
The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization as well as the payment of goods and services purchased by the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that Customer invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization. For payments to our vendors, this person will ensure that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for the purchasing and payment of goods and services. In addition, this role will assist in the monthly close process, inventory activities, and other accounting requests as needed.


Essential Functions:

  • Provides collections support by monitoring and maintaining customer receivables.
  • Accountable for reducing delinquency for customer accounts.
  • Initiate and follow up with customers on adjustments, client discrepancies and short payments.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and senior management when necessary to address and accelerate the collection process.
  • Processes A/R invoice mailing.
  • Maintains DSO goal for the organization.
  • Maintains DPO goal for the organization.
  • Processes and enters Cash Receipts from deposits and transfers.
  • Processes check requests ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received.
  • Processes A/P vouchering.
  • Manages vendor relationships on the accounting side of the organization.
  • Credit Card reconciliation and monthly posting.
  • Prepares weekly reports as needed for the Accounting Team
  • Support ABC Cycle Counting activities on a weekly basis.
  • Support Month End Close activities. Including journal entries, account reconciliations, cash reconciliations, report generation, account analysis, and other tasks as needed.
  • Support Controller/Senior Staff Accountant with ad-hoc requests.
  • Support Corporate Accounting Team with ad-hoc requests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business Related field is required. Degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen or a US permanent resident.
  • Prior accounting/finance experience is a plus!

  • Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Excel

  • Assures all work is processed in a swift and a timely fashion with high quality results
