Summary:
The CDL (Class A) Logistics Truck Driver (Trailer and Straight Truck) or Boom Truck Driver is responsible for operating a tractor trailer truck and a 22’ straight truck that transports fabricated ductwork, pipe, construction materials, tools, and HVAC equipment to and from construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service.
- Load, secure and unload cargo
- Maintain cellular and email contact with dispatch to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up.
- Maintain logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations
- Responsible for light vehicle maintenance, daily inspection, and presentation
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Must display proven ability to operate both tandem axle tractors with 48’ trailers as well as 22’ straight trucks.
- Spot Trailers within campus
- Aid in pulling Tool Orders
- Aid in maintaining a clean & organized warehouse.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Boom Truck experience
- NCCO Knuckle Boom Certification
- City of Chicago Knuckle Boom Certification
- Class A License

- Requires an ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure and adjust to changing situations.
- Requires initiative, great attention to detail, accuracy, an ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and customer services skills, and maintain a positive attitude while dealing professionally with co-workers, clients, vendors, etc.
- Must be able to work independently with limited supervision while still being a team player.
- Must be dependable, organized and self-motivated.
