The Hampton Inn and Suites in Michigan City is looking for a motivated individual to join our team as Laundry Attendant.

Responsibilities Include:

• Sorting linen into appropriate groups for washing.
• Separating stained linen from other dirty linen, and treats according to policy and procedures.
• Logging discarded linen on “Discarded linen” sheet.
• Loading linens into washers, sets machine controls and starts machine.
• Removing clean wet linen from washers and places in dryers.
• Setting dryer controls for specific time cycle and start dryer.
• Removing linen from dryer, folds, and places on appropriate storage rack/room.
• Promptly notifies supervisor of all equipment breakdowns.
• Maintaining immediate work area, and sweeps and mops floors as needed.
• Keeping shelves and supplies well stocked and organized. Informing supervisor of any shortages in inventory or supplies.
• Cleaning out washers and dryer. Checking drums and replenishes cleaning agents as needed.
• Cleaning lint traps on dryers at the beginning and end of the day.
• Ensuring that outside door is closed at all time and locked.
• May assist room attendants in collecting and delivering soiled linens to laundry room.
• Maintaining compliance with company policies, practices, procedures and safety standards.
• Reporting in proper uniform, which is cleaned and pressed.
• Attending and participates in staff meetings.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
