This new two-dimensional role focuses on accelerating the growth of the Marketing, Sales, & Distribution department at Berkley Aspire. One half of the position is focused on project management and advancing the strategic goals of the Marketing & Communications, Sales Excellence, and Distribution teams. The other half of the position is focused on applying technology and finding creative, cost-effective ways to capture and deploy data/information/reports/insights.
The successful candidate will be a listener, critical thinker, creative problem solver, natural collaborator, and someone who is detail and deadline conscious.
This position reports to the VP of Marketing, Sales, and Distribution.
- Manage team goals and associated activities throughout the year. Participate on project teams. Track results.
- Manage complex projects within the department – size resource needs, establish timelines and milestones, schedule meetings and updates, track progress and be conscious of deadlines. Collaborate across the department/company/excess & surplus lines segment throughout the process.
- Identify creative, technology-based solutions/workarounds/shortcuts for day-to-day and longer-term tactical and strategic challenges.
- Participate on project team tasked with upgrading Aspire’s suite of digital properties – company website, agent portal, and employee intranet.
- Support the Marketing & Communications, Sales Excellence, and Distribution teams, and their primary objectives for 2023:
- Increase the flow of quality submissions,
- Formalize policies, procedures, and operating processes governing non-standard commissions, agent appointments, and industry conferences,
- Establish a content library featuring new assets highlighting our strengths, capabilities, and underwriting appetite.
Qualifications:
- Ability to creatively solve problems by applying technical solutions.
- Ability to be disciplined in managing projects.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, professional style.
- Ability to collaborate with technical staff; leadership; underwriters; shared service teams; the Marketing, & Communications, Sales Excellence, and Distribution teams; Berkley Connect; other Berkley business units; production partners; and others.
- Ability to bring new ideas and insights.
- Ability to recommend process improvements, technology enhancements, and best practices. Drive approved ideas to implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications in property and casualty insurance, excess & surplus lines insurance, and/or experience working in the industry would be a bonus but are not required.
- Knowledge of WRB organizations, Berkley Aspire, and/or E&S segment helpful but not mandatory.
