The Role
The Lead Manufacturing Technician will oversee the production operation. They will ensure that technicians perform all the tasks associated with processing and packaging products in a safe and efficient manner to support the execution of the production schedule. The Role
The Lead Manufacturing Technician will oversee the production operation. They will ensure that technicians perform all the tasks associated with processing and packaging products in a safe and efficient manner to support the execution of the production schedule. The job also includes advanced operational and/or specialized tasks supporting the overall manufacturing process flow.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Documentation- Batch sheets, picklists, checklists, etc.- Equipment operations - Fork trucks, process pumps, mixers, etc.
- Computer Interface - SAP, Particle Counting MS Office.
- Schedule, prioritize and monitor daily work assignments to allow for maximum schedule execution.
- Training and certification of the Manufacturing Technicians in all operational functions, departmental policies and procedures along with technical skills related to specific job functions.
- Monitor and verify that personnel are upholding the process disciplines to which they were trained and certified.
- Assist in troubleshooting and drive root cause analysis.
- Conducts routine inspections of the manufacturing areas to identify & correct physical and system discrepancies.
- Identifies necessary supplies & services and prepares required purchase requisitions.
- Identifies and initiates immediate corrective actions for safety and environmental discrepancies.
- Fill the gaps on the production floor when time is available and/or the need to move tasks forward necessitates it.
REQUIREMENTS
High School degree or equivalent required- 10+ years manufacturing experience is required. Chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years leadership experience required
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of the organization
- Multitasking and flexibility/versatility is required
- Advanced computer skills are required
- Fork truck operation (sit-down and pallet jacks) is required to perform the various tasks.
- Ability to be fitted for and wear a respirator
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, bend, climb and reach
- This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
