Job Title
Lead Test Proctor, Reader, and Scribe, Level 6
Job Function
Proctor students taking tests and/or read tests to students with disabilities. Assist Manager in coordinating testing and other Learning Center services. Perform Front Desk duties as needed.
Job Responsibilities
Proctor
- Administer and proctor Learning Center Tests, including make-up exams, virtual exams, placement exams, Department Credit by Exams, and various other tests given in the Learning Centers both manually and electronically.
- Proctor, read, or scribe tests for students with disabilities per ADA requirements.
- Process proctor testing, tutoring, and other requests.
- Implement new testing procedures.
- Complete proctor testing forms and other required paperwork.
- Create testing help guides for staff.
- Maintain CLEP TCA (Test Center Administrator) certification required to administer CLEP exams.
- Communicate with faculty regarding testing logistics.
- Collaborate with Manager of Health & Human Services to organize and administer Selective Placement Exams.
- Assist Managers in coordinating and maintaining NCTA membership.
- Maintain familiarity with NCTA professional development opportunities and communicate to other Proctors.
- Assist Managers in conducting and documenting New Proctor Training.
- Manage and respond to CAL inquiries.
- Monitor and maintain testing website and supplies.
- Serve as site coordinator for the administration of the SAT:
- Coordination:
- Reserve Testing Room
- Assign staff members to various testing rooms
- Ensure that accommodation is met for special needs
- Administration:
- Ensure that staff members are aware of their assignments
- Make necessary testing announcements to students
- Help with check-in processing and problem-solve testing issues
Front Desk
- Maintain order in the Learning Center, testing room, and computer lab.
- Compile, record departmental data and file documents.
- Monitor, update, and maintain posted tutoring schedules and Learning Center hours both online and on paper.
- Work with Managers to identify best practices and changes in procedure and communicate them to other front desk staff.
- Perform departmental outreach to students as necessary.
- Provide customer service by multiple modalities including answering questions regarding Departmental and College-wide services and events; routing students and staff appropriately.
- Facilitate information between departments; oversee deposits, deliveries, mailings, and appropriate inventories of operating items.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Participate in departmental trainings as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Reports to Department Manager or designee.
SUPERVISION GIVEN: May provide direction and assignments to part time staff as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally-accredited college or university OR equivalent professional experiences in test proctoring and administration.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must provide extensive customer service with courtesy and concerned attention to individual needs. Must create and maintain an environment that creates a positive atmosphere conducive to learning and student success. Will provide direct assistance to accommodate client needs, so must be able to deal with diverse populations. Will be required to learn adaptive technology as needed for testing special needs students. Must have clear reading voice. Must be able to follow procedures and control testing environment.

To be determined by the department, but not to exceed 30 hours per week.
Salary
$17.00 - $22.00 (2022-23 salary range) Maximum wage upon new hire $17.00
