Position Title: Finance Leader

Reports To: Senior Manager, Finance

Location: Shelbyville, TN


This position reports to the Senior Manager Operations Finance and will be responsible for supporting the US Manufacturing team.


The applicant should be comfortable working in a fast paced, flexible environment with multiple and competing priorities. The candidate should be comfortable communicating to all levels of the organization (factory floor to CEO) and able to develop strong working relationships in the Global Supply Chain and throughout Newell Brands in order to gather information and influence decision-making


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end close activities for D&T lines of P&L including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Provide month-end reporting, variance analysis, and presentation support for results explanations to operations teams, business leaders, and corporate stakeholders
  • Assist with cost savings analysis, project reviews, and tracking to meet business unit savings goals
  • Manage capital budgets, project approvals, and asset activation for the D&T team
  • Assist with understanding space requirements for the Distribution Center and determining costs per pallet for analysis
  • Review and approve inventory Cycle Count reports and work with DC team to ensure corporate policy compliance
  • Review Quality block/hold inventory at DC and assist in resolution
  • Support both internal and external audit requests
  • Assist with building the annual operations budget
  • Work with the department to support the implementation of new processes and process improvements as needed including documentation of processes and procedures
  • Complete other ad hoc analysis, projects, and requests as needed



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting/finance field, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, or transportation environment
  • Experience with Excel, SAP, PowerBI and Hyperion is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical, leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to convert and convey complex ideas and problems into an understandable framework
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in the areas of finance and accounting
  • CPA / MBA are a plus but not a requirement
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Cross-functional teamwork experience
  • Self-motivated in achieving goals
  • Consumer Products Industry experience a plus
