You will be working with police supervisors and managers across a wide range of policing disciplines. As part of a wider learning team, you will be supporting them to achieve the leadership skills they need to perform effectively and you will be assessing them against national standards.

  • Gathering evidence from a range of sources, including witness testimony, candidate statements, work product, professional discussion and observation within the workplace, and making assessment decisions against the appropriate RQF standards.
  • In compliance with organisational requirements, maintaining accurate records of candidate evidence, assessment decisions, feedback, development plans, reviewing meetings and all other activity relevant to the support and assessment of candidates within their area of responsibility.
  • Providing evidence to support informal and form performance reviews and meetings as required.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Hold a full current driving licence or able to travel around force area using alternative transport.
  • Possess, be working towards or be willing to work towards attaining a L3 assessment qualification such as CAVA, A1 or equivalent.

  • Skilled computer user with experience of maintaining and updating concise and accurate records and record keeping using electronic systems and/or platforms.

The role is largely home based, with most communication via Microsoft Teams or email. However, you will be expected to visit and observe your candidates in their normal working environments and to deliver classroom-based training as required.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
