POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Learning & Impact (DLI), the Learning & Impact Specialist contributes to the mission of Northwest Harvest (NWH) by ensuring efficient and effective department communications and operations.

This position supports the Learning & Impact (L&I) Team by: overseeing department communications; organizing and updating our SharePoint sites; coordinating team meeting schedules and planning; managing the DLI’s schedule, calendar, and travel plans; and providing program support to our Innovative Programs team, our Metrics & Evaluation Analyst, and our Strategy Team, as needed.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, highly-relational environment, open to learning and practicing NWH’s Six Agreements, and have a strong commitment to teamwork, communication, collaboration, and serving the organization’s mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Department
Coordination
  • Coordinate with department staff on department-wide communications
  • Manage our department’s two SharePoint sites:
  • Organize and maintain the L&I department SharePoint
  • Update, edit, and maintain the Four Strategies “Impact Hub”
  • Manage the L&I Department meeting calendar, scheduling and planning monthly department meetings and quarterly retreats
  • Manage the DLI’s Outlook calendar, by scheduling meetings with internal staff and external partners
  • Coordinating travel plans for the DLI
  • Work across the L&I Department on other administrative issues, as needed

Program
Support
  • Assist the Innovative Programs staff with cross-program coordination and other tasks, as assigned Assist the Metrics & Evaluation Analyst with strategy and program measurement, as assigned
  • Assist the DLI with administrative support for our Strategy Team

Other Administration
  • Attend one-on-one, team, department, and all-staff meetings
  • Participate in ad hoc committee meetings (cross-functional, equity, etc), as appropriate
  • Participate in equity, strategy, and visioning initiatives
  • Participate in ERGs (employee resource groups), as appropriate

Performs other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal
: Daily contact with Learning & Impact department staff, frequent contact with Leadership Team members, and occasional contact with all NWH staff

External
: Occasional contact with NWH external partners and stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A combination of the real-life experience, education, and training listed
below which provides an equivalent background to perform the work of this position.

Successful completion of
a b ackground check is required .

Technical Knowledge
:

  • Intermediate-level skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Competency with other organizational platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Zoom, Mural, and Asana
  • Comfort with learning and using new technical programs and applications

EDUCATION AND
EXPERIENCE :

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education, with a personal orientation as a life-long learner
  • Minimum (3)+ of progressively responsible experience in administrative- and program-support positions

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:

  • Non- Profit experience is desired but not required
  • Comfort and competency with editing pages in Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience or familiarity with program evaluation
  • Experience with managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and planning travel
  • Ability to speak a second language (especially Spanish, Vietnamese, or Cantonese) is highly desired but not required
  • Desired interest and/or experience with data visualization
