The Center School, a private 12-month Special Education day school located in the Chicopee/Holyoke area that is part of The Positive Regard Network, seeks candidates for a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opening.
This is a Full Time position (52 weeks per year). Competitive salary commensurate with experience. The SLP position requires a Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and valid/current licensure with the MA Division of Professional Licensure as a Speech/Language Pathologist. MA DESE licensure in Speech/Language/Hearing Disorders is preferred. Licensure in Connecticut would also be highly preferred. The SLP provides services to classrooms as a communication specialist by way of (1) adding to our curriculum learning that reflects the therapeutic language requirement of our students, (2) training and mentoring staff to implement the curriculum, and (3) teaching these skills in a classroom setting. The SLP supervises SLPAs, provides speech/language assessments for students and prepares corresponding reports, prepares updates and reports for presentation at district team meetings, attends team meetings as requested.
