Job Purpose:

The Licensing and Impact Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that Fairtrade products licensed in the US comply with the Fairtrade Standards through meticulous data management, client support and compliance oversight. As the steward of critical organizational transparency and impact data, the Coordinator serves as the foundation backbone of business development and client impact reporting efforts, provides quantitative and qualitative data bolstering marketing and communications efforts, and supports in our financial reporting while cultivating strong relationships across Fairtrade International.

Reports To: Director of Marketing and External Relations

Duties & Responsibilities:

Licensing, Compliance and Database Management - approximately 55% of the time

  • Maintain and manage Fairtrade America's information in our international licensing database. Ensuring high-quality healthy data through proper data entry, alignment with contracts, regular audits, and strong processes.
  • Support in guiding new Fairtrade brand partners through the licensing process, which includes maintaining and developing materials that communicate requirements, supporting with reporting training, and ensuring all licensing contracts are processed correctly.
  • Support team on business assessments, process new product applications and manage licensee product data by reviewing supply chain details, recipes, the exceptions process, and artwork approvals.
  • Investigate illegitimate Fairtrade certified claims and trademark infringement to ensure integrity of the system and protection of the Fairtrade trademarks.
  • Lead data requirements for upstream product mapping for Amazon's Climate Pledge Friendly program, 1% for the Planet, SPINS, and other product discovery and consumer insights platforms.
  • Support teams in operationalizing new offers to businesses as they arise.
  • Manage regular reporting for quarterly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reviews and ad-hoc needs

Amplifying impact - approximately 30% of the time

  • Harvest, manage, and champion impact data (from a variety of internal and external sources), supply chain information, storytelling resources and producer initiatives to support Fairtrade America teams in telling rich stories rooted in compelling data.
  • Deepen licensee connection with Fairtrade by leading the co-creation of meaningful and useful reports that illustrate the impact of their investment in Fairtrade producers and the Fairtrade system.

Advancing organizational cohesion and efficiency - approximately 15% of the time

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Partnerships and Finance & Administration teams on adjacent processes or systems such as: quarterly sales invoicing, and Salesforce data integration.
  • Serve as our representative in system-wide licensing meetings and working groups.
  • Oversee Fairtrade America's Requirements for Licensing Bodies, KPI, and Annual Sales Figures reporting process to Fairtrade International, including collecting, analyzing, and validating data.

Location:

This position is based at Fairtrade America's headquarters in Washington, DC. To be eligible for the position, candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to either the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or, if the candidate doesn't hold a bachelor's degree, an additional four years' experience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities and keep track of many details.
  • Superb attention to detail.
  • Data management experience.
  • Ability to synthesize complex or technical information into actionable steps.
  • Ability to analyze data collected via different channels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce and other relevant databases.
  • Flexible, creative team player able to quickly adapt and adjust work to resolve pressing issues.
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365 platforms, including SharePoint.
  • Knowledge and commitment to Fairtrade and social justice issues.

Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year
