Ocean Community YMCA's Westerly Branch located in beautiful Southern RI is looking for Lifeguards and Swim Instructors to join their team.Lifeguards are responsible for providing members with a safe and clean environment in the pool area. Enforce all YMCA rules and life guarding principles and safety protocols. Respond quickly and appropriately to all emergency situations. Must have current Lifeguarding certification.
Swim Instructors will provide participants with exciting, safe and productive swim classes. Instructors should have YMCA Swim Instructor certification, WSI and/or experience to teach their appropriate class along with the ability to swim and demonstrate proper technique.
All aquatic staff will maintain a safe and clean environment for our members and participants. Both positions require current CPR/AED/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen Administration, preferably American Red Cross or equivalent.
Various shifts are available, year round availability preferred
Single membership to the Y is available to all part time employees during employment at no cost.
