Job description
Calling all recent graduates and Spanish language aficionados:
Working under the direction of Inline's Managing Director, the Spanish linguist, editor and translation coordinator works with Inline's senior project managers and coordinators with ongoing translation projects. Principal tasks include editing, proofreading and final formatting of Spanish translations, new project setup (including file preparation), translator selection and interfacing, quality control, translation memory management, quote development for new requests, and general backup for other project managers.
Knowledge/Skills Required by the Job
A.Academic preparation includes a B.A. or B.S. in liberal arts with a major or minor in Spanish and participation in a semester-long study abroad program in a Spanish-speaking country
B. Superb Spanish linguistic abilities (grammar and vocabulary) and the ability to edit Spanish translations for completeness, accuracy, readability, and cultural sensitivity
C. Extremely detail-oriented— you can "spot the difference"
D. Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
E. Ability to proofread camera-ready copy for accuracy
F. Advanced linguistic abilities in another foreign language (bonus)
G. Basic proficiency in Adobe InDesign (bonus)
Scope and Difficulty of Job
The successful candidate will need to manage multiple tasks and projects with occasional conflicting deadlines, handle interruptions and dispose of non-critical situations quickly, and prioritize work to meet customer deadlines. Given the lean staffing of the organization, the incumbent must be able to independently solve problems.

The subject matter Inline's work includes: healthcare and employee benefits, human resource management, social services, workplace safety, engagement surveys, movie titles, and environmental concerns. Inline Translation Services is based in the heart of Glendale, California. Our six full-time project managers work with a network of professional translators in the United States and several other countries around the world. We are recruiting for a full-time entry-level position— professional fluency in English and Spanish required. The new hire will work onsite. Partial remote work available after six months.
