The Job

We are a ski, snowboard, bike, surf and skate shop, and our stores are a gathering place for community. Our goal is to create customer experiences at retail that elevate both our brand and business. As the Local Brand Coordinator, you are a community builder and play a huge role in creating experiences that keep customers coming back to our stores. This position is unique in that you act as a conduit between the marketing department and your store, balancing the needs of both. You will report into the brand team while collaborating with the store manager. You will be responsible for the execution of national/campaign events, galleries, and educational clinics in your store. You will spearhead local events and grassroots activation with the goal of highlighting your store and the evo brand at large in your community. You will cultivate a consistent social media presence within all aspects of your role and our store functions.

What you’ll do

1) Social media 20%

  • Follow social media strategy and established pillars in creating a consistent presence for your store through Instagram and Tik Tok.
  • Contribute local content to HQ team to highlight on national account.
  • Amplify all events including 3rd party events, activations, and partners.
  • Connect with HQ on amplifying posts.
  • Conduct asset creation, basic photography, and copy writing for social posts.
  • Monitor direct messages and tags.

2) Events 50%

  • Be the go-to person for all events in your market.
  • Coordinate and lead event execution in partnership with store leadership team.
  • Ideate and implement local events in accordance with evo event strategy while supporting HQ led initiatives in your market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local partners such as avalanche bulletins, trail advocacy groups, ski areas, and local event groups such as bike enduro race organizers or local sport collectives.
  • Prioritize the collection of customer data at events and follow up communications with offers and other incentives.
  • Promote event via signage, social media, word of mouth and other media avenues.
  • Report back on wins and misses from events.

3) General marketing support 10%

  • Support marketing campaigns on-the-ground with materials and operations training through Coordination with Store leadership team and visual merchandiser.
  • From time to time brief and attend photo and video shoots on location in your market at the request of the marketing department.

4) Community building 20%

  • Actively seek out opportunities for collaboration with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to increase the store's visibility and reputation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the community to leverage partnerships and increase awareness of the evo brand in your market.
Requirements:

What you need

  • Highly collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive with a willingness to collaborate and an attitude to learn.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and multi-tasking skills, including demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • A creative eye with knowledge of brief writing and content creation and collection.
  • A passion for and participation in the sports we promote is preferred, but not necessary.

Working conditions:

  • 40-hour work week with many duties requiring the availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and events, including evenings and weekends.
  • You are based in Portland or The Columbia Gorge area with the ability to travel regionally to support both the Hood River and Portland stores.
