Altarum has an immediate opening for a Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) Analyst to join our Delivery System Transformation practice area team. The successful candidate will support data analytics and project efforts for our person-centered nursing home culture change portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use their knowledge of research and evaluation design, focus-group facilitation, key informant interviews, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and health service system transformation to generate insights that inform health services solutions. Specific tasks may include data management, statistical analysis, literature reviews, qualitative data collection and analysis report or publication writing, quantitative data collection, cleaning, analysis and report or publication writing, and presentation of results to colleagues, partners, and clients. This position is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan or Washington, DC. Remote options can be available.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to senior leadership, researchers, and staff
  • Support recruitment of providers in project activities, as appropriate
  • Assist program awardees with understanding data requests and how to submit their data
  • Field and meaningfully respond to questions from program awardees to support their program implementation and data submission process
  • Monitor all submitted data for completeness and coordinate with program awardees to update data, as necessary
  • Participate in qualitative interviews and focus groups with provider staff, residents, and leadership
  • Draft comprehensive sections of program reports
  • Conduct regular data analysis of quantitative data and create compelling data visualizations for the team, the provider team, and our clients
  • Provide support to all aspects of the research process on multiple ongoing research studies, including assisting with study design, data collection, data analysis, and reporting
  • Identify program improvement potential and provide project leadership with recommendations and action plan for the test of improvement
  • Maintain knowledge of the long-term care system, including but not limited to nursing home financing, quality improvement efforts, and federal and state initiatives
  • Balance the needs of multiple simultaneous projects with competing deadlines
  • Self-manage time and resources effectively
  • Follow all applicable privacy and confidentiality procedures in daily work
  • As needed, assist with developing, preparing, and coordinating Requests for Proposals (RFP), grant applications, and grant-related activities to obtain funding for health education programs and related work

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 0-3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with pivot charts and creating graphs in Excel
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis
  • Experience with quantitative data analyses
  • Data analysis and or visualization experience a plus
  • Ability to synthesize data and communicate analyses in clear language for clients and other audiences
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and professionalism under pressure
  • Ability to work well with others, frequently across multiple office locations (including virtual)
  • Positive attitude—ability to collaborate with and promote a positive relationship between colleagues, partners, and clients
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team including researchers, research analysts, systems analysts, and programmers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Good problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)

Logistical Requirements:

  • At this time we will only accept candidates who are presently eligible to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship.
  • Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract.
  • If you are local to our offices in Arlington, Silver Spring, Ann Arbor, or Portland this role will be hybrid.
  • Must be able to work during eastern time unless approved by your manager.
