Licensed Practical Nurse
Evangeline Oaks Guest House is currently seeking a reliable LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) to care for our residents in a professional, considerate and compassionate manner. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing care in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Evangeline Oaks Guest House provides long term care as well as SNF and short term rehabilitation services.

Skills
- Proven experience as LPN or similar role
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care following established nursing service objectives and standards
- Ensures that all safety and infection control practices are followed
- Distributes and documents medications (including narcotics) according to established standards and regulations
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
- Communicates with residents and families regarding care
- Completes requested reports in a timely manner
- Measures and records vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, etc., and reports any changes in condition
- Resolves resident complaints and concerns or escalates when necessary
- Responds to emergency situations and determines the best course of action for necessary or follow up care
- Supervises Certified Nursing Assistants during shift
