Machine Operator/ Assistant Team Lead

3rd Shift

Pay Range: $25.10/hr - $26.25/hr + $.75/hr + $2.00/hr Shift Premium

Hours: 8:30pm – 5:30am (Overtime as production demands)

Responsibilities

• 
  Consistently manufacture “great tasting” sausage products according to specifications.
• Work together with other Oven Operators, Frank O Matic Operators, and Packaging Members to obtain World Class results in safety, yields, and supply costs.
• Participate in daily team meetings by offering ideas and suggestions, supporting team members and participating on team projects
• Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a Team Member to acquire great performance in order to support the Johnsonville Way
• Develop your personal and professional skills on a continuous basis to ensure your development to stretch and grow.
• Learn and understand the cooked/smoked side of the process; train and coach Members on the process and provide rotation and break support to Members.
• Responsible for the performance, productivity and efficient utilization of resources.
• Create an environment that ensures Member involvement and implementation of programs, ideas, and guidelines that ensure fairness to all Members.
• Ensure appropriate Coaches/Members are aware of problems, issues, and events that could affect safety, food safety/quality, cost, customer service, Member development and BPTW.
• Ensure a safe, helpful, Team atmosphere, which promotes continuous improvement among team Members.

Experience

• Manufacturing experience in a Food Industry preferred.
• Previous experience in leading a project, team, or team Meeting
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to function in a team-based environment.
• Work experiences that demonstrate the Johnsonville’s Core Values, i.e., Integrity, Continuous Learning, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, and Innovation
• Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (safety, USDA).

Skills and Competencies

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Basic math skills required
• Must be able to complete production documentation paperwork accurately. Attention to detail is a must.
• Must be able to navigate through computer screens and enter data into a computer program.
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Must be able to identify CCP’s in the oven area and maintain all GMPs
• Must be able to help keep the smoking area within TQC compliance
• Must be able to push/pull racks of sausage that could weigh up to 1200 pounds
• Must have the desire to learn, grow and take on increasing responsibility
