What Makes this Job So Unique?
As the Machine Operator at AFH, you will have a unique opportunity to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the success of Appeeling Fruit and its customers through the following core job responsibilities:

• Operate and adjust ALL models of the vertical form fill and seal packing machines and multi-weigh head scales.
• Train and supervise machine operators on all vertical packaging systems and scales.
• Understand the work flow and adjust volume to different machines accordingly
• Ensure the department meets all daily metrics
• Ensure the highest quality product possible by following and enforcing AFH’s and our customer’s SOPs and GMPs
• Ensure finished bags are sealed correctly are labeled with correct date codes and country of origin
• Document possible issues on machines, notifying production management and maintenance before stoppage/downtime is require.
• Ensure machines are cleaned daily to promote longevity and reduce the risk of contamination

Qualified Candidates Should Possess:

• At least 1 year related experience in Food service/Manufacturing required. Previous vertical form fill and seal machine knowledge preferred.
• Professional oral and written communication skills. Bilingual a plus!
• Strong detail orientation
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Experience training and developing team members
• Experience meeting assigned department metrics
• Ability to stand for the entire shift and lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
• Ability to work on a cold-maintained environment
