Maintenance Engineer

Harrisburg, PA area

$21 - $26/hour, based on experience

Flexible schedule Monday - Friday 8-hour shifts; may require weekend work for emergencies or scheduled service.

The full-time Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair for Travel Plazas in Harrisburg, PA area, supporting Lawn, Highspire, Cumberland, and Blue Mountain sites ensuring the Plaza’s equipment is operating and being maintained cost-effectively. This is a non-exempt position and reports to the Facilities Manager.

The applicant we seek will be responsible for:

• Inspects, diagnoses, and performs repairs and maintenance on all food service equipment.
• Maintains small appliances, kitchen equipment, and minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
• Ensures that all equipment is in safe operating condition.
• Coordinates repairs within approved budgetary guidelines.
• Maintains preventative maintenance schedule and records.
• Travel to various Travel Plazas in Harrisburg, PA area, supporting Lawn, Highspire, Cumberland, and Blue Mountain as needed for repairs and maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

• Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance field.
• Requires knowledge of the following trades: appliance repair, electrical commercial experience, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Cooking equipment repair experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
• Knowledge of CMMS software is preferred.
• Requires basic computer skills.
• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Requires the ability to bend, and twist to perform normal job functions.
• Requires the ability to lift and maneuver items weighing up to 80 lbs.
• Requires the ability to perform tasks while on a ladder.
• Requires the ability to operate equipment that requires continual and repetitive hand and arm motions. Requires the ability to be exposed to various climates ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
• Requires a clean driving record and passing Applegreen background check.
• Certificate of completion of courses in above mentioned trades is recommended, but not required.
